Aims
of the Service
- Improve the
relationship between Parent/Carer and their children.

the confidence and self esteem of parents/carers.

the confidence and self esteem of children.
- Help parents/carers
to understand and cope with their children's development.
- Help parents/carers
to understand and cope with their children's behaviour.
- Signpost
families to other relevant community services.
Kites help families to overcome their difficulties and encourage them
to achieve positive outcomes for both the parents and the children.
Kites
Family Support Service
Kites will offer family
support to families with children under the age of 13. The support provided
will be negotiated with each individual family but will consist of one
or more of the following:
- Positive Parenting
Programmes delivered on a one-to-one basis by a Home Support Officer
(HSO).
- Positive Parenting
Programmes that are delivered in a group environment and facilitated
by HSOs.
- Positive Parenting
Programmes that are self managed by the family with support from either
Family Friends or HSOs.
- Specific support
strategies provided by home visiting staff (Home Support Officers HSO)
e.g. setting boundaries, positive sleep patterns, play.
- Befriending service
provided by 'Family Friends'.
- Counselling services.
- Signposting other
relevant community resources and support agencies.
- Groups to offer
informal support for parents and play opportunities for the children.
